As part is it’s 2015 Pride Festival, LA PRIDE / Christopher Street West its 3rd Annual Arts & Heritage Exhibition: RIOT II, curated by INSTALL:WeHo. In 2014, RIOT I celebrated the 45th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and aimed at creating a bridge between the early generations: the activists that fought for today’s advances and the current generation: those that continue to fight, those that celebrate and those that are still searching for a voice in modern society.

2015 marks the 45th Anniversary of the pride marches in the United States, as well as, the 30th Anniversary of the incorporation of the City of West Hollywood. During this historically-charged celebration, RIOT II will examine the founding struggles and principles of the queer civil rights movement, re-contextualizing our shared experience into a large-scale playground of installations, performances, music and dance! Only by revisiting our journey to the present and remembering those who fought for our freedoms today, can we truly celebrate our victories and move into the future towards greater equality and understanding. So, walk, run, twirl, slather or skip your way underground for this unique experience. Come interact with giant works of art, play along with our performance artists and become a living, breathing piece of queer history!
