Surveillance LA

Surveillance LA is a website and photo series made in spring 2010 that investigates urban surveillance in the queer and gendered landscapes of West Hollywood, Echo Park and Silver Lake.  In documenting each meta-selfie of reflected surveillance, a collective nod by the flaneur to the Big Brother who is always watching, I sought to mark territory like a urinating male ferret and to differentiate or question when I was and wasn’t observed.
